The NYSSRC Ad Hoc Committee has been actively working to upgrade the academic entry-level standard for Respiratory Care to a BS degree through various meetings and legislative engagements.

The NYSSRC Ad Hoc Committee is actively advancing the BSin RT entry-level standard in NY State by engaging legislators, merging task forces, and planning summits.

The NYSSRC Ad Hoc Committee has finalized legislation to promote a BS in Respiratory Therapy in NYS, now seeking legislative support.

The legislation has been drafted as it is currently being finalized. The committee will now prioritize gaining support for the initiative and addressing barriers for AS and AAS programs.

The committee’s efforts were halted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The co-chairs will be resuming efforts in the coming weeks.
