In November 2019, the NYSSRC designated an Ad Hoc Committee for Academic Advancement of the Respiratory Care Profession in NYS tasked with working on legislation and addressing barriers for entry-level BS in RT in seven (7) years.
The committee’s efforts were halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Co-Chairs of the committee, Stephen G. Smith (Stony Brook University Respiratory Care Program) and Lisa Shultis (Long Island University), will be resuming efforts in the coming weeks.
