The NYSSRC Ad Hoc Team for the Academic Advancement of the Respiratory Care Profession in NY State continues their efforts towards advancing the academic standard to entry-level BS in RT in NY State.
The statewide election season for representatives in the Assembly and Senate is certainly having an impact on moving our initiative forward at this time. However, we continue to have discussions with Assemblywoman Glick, Chair of the Higher Education Committee in the Assembly and have received positive feedback on the changes made to the updated bill.
The Ad Hoc Team is still waiting to hear back from NYSED regarding any additional recommendations and setting up a possible meeting with CUNY/SUNY.
Next steps will include introducing the bill into legislation in the next session after the elections.
