Cancelled and not rescheduled
In light of recent events surrounding Covid-19 and out of an abundance of caution, the conference planning committee has decided to cancel our upcoming conference which was scheduled for April 23 and 24. The NYSSRC is a healthcare-based organization and we feel that it is most prudent and safe to adhere to the recommendations of the CDC regarding social distancing in an effort to slow the progression of this virus in our communities. Refunds will be issued to all who registered, and we appreciate your patience with that.
We are actively seeking to salvage the event for 2020 by rescheduling it in September. As you may imagine, we’re not the only organization trying to reschedule a Spring event for the Fall so we are exploring several options regarding venues, locations, and perhaps even abbreviating this to a one-day event for this year. It is sad to miss this event as those who’ve been to it in the past know how much fun it can be and we know how much the western NY RTs look forward to the event to meet their continuing education requirements. Stay tuned for further updates regarding this event and regardless of rescheduling this year we have every intention of bringing it back next Spring in Niagara Falls again.
May all of you and your families stay safe during these trying times. The world needs us now to do what we’re best at- take care of sick people with cardiopulmonary conditions. Our profession is in the spotlight and we have a tremendous opportunity to shine.
